What if a customer does not collect a pickup order?
Try to reach them on the number on the order, and keep the order stored safely for as long as the product sensibly allows.
What to do
- Call and message. Give them a real window, not an open ended one.
- Store it properly. Refrigerated if it needs it, covered either way. Food safety does not pause because the customer is late.
- Record it. Every attempt, with times, in the order notes.
- Contact support. If you cannot reach them or the product is approaching the end of its life, write to support@cakesify.com with the Order ID.
Do not sell it to someone else
It is paid for by a specific person. However tempting it is at the end of a day, reselling an order that has not been formally cancelled creates a problem that is much worse than the loss.
Judgement on shelf life
How long you hold it depends entirely on what it is. A jar of pickle can wait a week. A fresh cream cake cannot wait a day. Use your own knowledge of the product and write down what you decided and why.
The outcome
What happens with the payment depends on the product, the order status and the circumstances, and is decided when you contact us. The record you kept is what the decision is made on.
