How does pickup work?

Turn on the pickup option in Delivery & Pickup settings. Customers can then choose to collect from the location saved in your dashboard, with no delivery charge.

Why it is worth turning on

Pickup removes the delivery cost, the delivery risk and the delivery timing problem in one go. For a customer who lives nearby, or who is driving past anyway, it is often the preferred option.

It is also the safest route for anything fragile or temperature sensitive.

What you need to do

Keep the status updated. The customer is planning their journey around it. Mark the order ready as soon as it is ready, not when you remember.

Be clear about where. If your dispatch address is a flat in a large building, put the detail in the order notes: gate number, floor, which entrance to use.

Be there. A pickup slot you are not present for is worse than a delivery that is late.

If nobody comes

Try to reach the customer on the number on the order, and keep the order safely stored for as long as the shelf life sensibly allows. If you cannot reach them, contact support@cakesify.com. Record what you did in the order notes.
