Who handles the delivery?
Two options, and you choose.
You arrange it
You book your own delivery partner, or you deliver it yourself. The charge the customer pays is calculated from the delivery settings you saved, and that is what you are paid for delivery.
This gives you control, and it means keeping your delivery settings realistic is on you.
A Cakesify integrated partner
If you set an integrated delivery partner as your default, the charge is calculated live at checkout based on the actual distance and the partner's rates at that moment. That amount goes to the delivery partner when the booking is made.
You do not handle the booking, the payment or the tracking.
What stays yours either way
Having the order ready on time, packed properly, and handed over in the condition you want it to arrive in. That part does not change whichever route the parcel takes.
Once it is handed over
After the order is handed to the delivery partner, the handling of it falls under that partner's terms. That does not mean you stop caring. If something goes wrong in transit, you are still the person the customer talks to first. See Delivery problems.
The cheapest option of all
Neither. If the customer can collect, there is no delivery cost, no delivery risk and no timing problem. See How does pickup work?
Before you dispatch
Confirm the customer will be there to receive it. It is a thirty second call that prevents the most common delivery failure there is. See What if the customer is not available?.
