What do I need before I start?

Four things, and none of them take long to gather. If you are still working out whether Cakesify is for you, start with What is Cakesify? instead.

Four things. Gather them first and the whole setup takes under an hour.

The paperwork

• FSSAI registration or licence. Valid and in your or your business's name. You can build your store while it is being processed, but you cannot take orders until it is verified.
• PAN. Yours, or your business's.
• Bank account details. Account number and IFSC, in the same name. This is where your payouts land, so check it twice.
• GSTIN or GST enrolment ID. Either works. Which one you have affects your payout, so see Do I need a GSTIN?.

The product list

This is the part people underestimate. Before you sit down to build the store, write out:

• Every product you want to sell
• The sizes or weights you actually make, not the ones you could theoretically make
• The price for each size
• How much notice you need to make it
• Main ingredients and any allergens

Having this on paper turns product building from an afternoon into twenty minutes.

Photos

One clear, well-lit photo per product. Natural light near a window beats any filter. You do not need a photographer.

If something is missing

Start anyway. Build what you can and fill the gaps as they come. The only thing that genuinely blocks you is the FSSAI verification, and that only blocks orders, not setup.
